EPNS One Pint Tankard Presented to Lt J B LEACH RN 1958
The inscription reads: ‘Presented to Lt J B Leach RN C.O. HMS DAVENHAM With Best Wishes From Ships Company November 1958. Height: 12.5 cm Silver plate externally in good condition internally pitted and corroded (please see photographs for issues).
HMS Davenham:- was one of 93 ships of the Ham-class of inshore minesweepers. Their names were all chosen from villages ending in – ham. The minesweeper was named after Davenham in Cheshire. Launched 23 March 1953. Sold 1966.
The London Gazette records on Monday, 17th April 1984. Ministry of Defence: Lt. Cdr. J. B. Leach M.B.E. reverts to retired list 16 April 1984 on ceasing to be re-employed.
