MAUREEN CHERRY Oil on Board Landscape
In the style of Monet. Spanish scene of an orange tree and blue landscape. Maureen was born on the Norfolk coast at Gorleston and now lives at North Walsham she studied at Great Yarmouth Art College, Norwich School of Art and Lowerstoft College of Art. She has exhibited in her own one woman shows as well as mixed exhibitions throughout East Anglia and further afield including exhibitions in Holland, Dubai and Costa Blanca, she has had her work accepted by The Royal Marine Society and The Society of Women Artists. Maureen draws her inspiration from the ever changing movement of skies, seas and inland waterways; the colours and the ever changing mood imparted by nature along with the suggestion of human form.
Though flowers, landscapes and even the occasional steam train feature in Maureen's work, it is the sea that predominates.
Living in Norfolk with its and varied coast line Maureen has plenty of inspiration from flood tides at Blakeney to the batted cliffs of Happisburgh, but where-ever Maureen goes she paints, so, views from Scotland or the Costa Blanca, to mention a couple of favourite haunts, may well be found.
