Description: Shell shaped butter dish with original frosted glass liner. Shell ended decorated butter knife. All silver hallmarked. Lovely quality. The silver shell has three ball feet.
Makers Mark MEB over FEB - Lion Passant - 3 Wheat Sheaf Chester Hallmark - 'J' date letter.
Condition: Clear crisp hallmarks. Original glass liner in unused condition. Solid silver not plated.
Boxed with velvet and satin interior and working push button opening. Hinges and catch in good condition for age. The original dark blue box exterior is a little tired but the gold band is still prominent, commesurate with age. Butter knife is a marriage - Sheffield silver 1909/1910 with corresponding, matching, shell design.
